About Dr. Meyer

Dr. Matthew Meyer joined Des Moines Eye Surgeons in September 2026 as a comprehensive ophthalmologist.

An Iowa native, Dr. Meyer attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids. In addition to his academic achievements, he was a four-year member of the Coe College basketball team.

Dr. Meyer earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine before completing both his Internal Medicine internship and Ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Meyer provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care with an emphasis on developing long-term relationships with his patients. He is committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care and helping patients understand their eye health and treatment options.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Meyer enjoys recreational sports, golf and spending time outdoors.
